A prep cook is a type of kitchen staff, responsible for preparing ingredients and pre-cooking items in advance of service. They are also responsible for organizing and cleaning the kitchen, and following recipes and instructions from the head chef.

Cheyenne Eats is looking for an experienced Prep Cook to join our professional restaurant team! We are a local restaurant in Cheyenne, Wyoming that prides itself on providing delicious, quality meals to our customers. Our ideal Prep Cook will have a passion for food and a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble basic ingredients and dishes according to recipes or other instructions
  • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Measure and prepare ingredients for use in recipes
  • Prepare salads and sandwich ingredients
  • Follow directions from the kitchen supervisor or cook when preparing and cooking food
  • Monitor use of supplies, equipment, and personnel in the kitchen
  • Assist with general kitchen tasks as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Work Hours and Benefits:

This is a full-time position, with a shift of approximately 30-40 hours per week. We offer competitive wages and benefits packages, including paid time off and health insurance.

  • Previous experience in a restaurant role
  • Ability to read, write, and follow basic kitchen instructions

Training and Education:

We require that all Prep Cooks have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additional experience or training in cooking techniques, restaurant operations, and/or food safety is preferred but not required.
