A barista is a person who prepares and serves coffee drinks and other food items in a cafe or coffee shop. Sioux Falls Java Hut is looking for a new barista to join our team and help make all of our customers’ coffee experiences a success! We are a bustling coffee shop in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls, and our baristas love to create coffee flavors that exceed customers’ expectations every time. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare coffee orders including all types of coffee, espresso, cappuccino, and other specialty drinks
- Accurately take customer orders and operate cash registers
- Provide excellent customer service in a timely fashion
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
- Monitor stock levels and restock supplies as needed
- Follow all health and safety regulations
Work Hours and Benefits:
At Sioux Falls Java Hut a barista job is offered on either a part-time or full-time basis. Typical hours of work and wage rate will be discussed during the interview process. In addition to a competitive wage, we also offer an employee discount and flexible hours.

Training and Education:
Baristas at Sioux Falls Java Hut must have a high school diploma or equivalent. We require our baristas to have knowledge of customer service and strong customer focus, as well as basic math. Prior experience as a barista is an asset but not required. We provide on the job training to teach baristas the appropriate customer service techniques and coffee-making skills they need to succeed in this role.

A barista works with coffee equipment to make and serve drinks to customers. A barista might also be responsible for stocking and maintaining the coffee shop and equipment, as well as merchandising and organizing drink recipes.
