Birmingham Accounting Solutions is looking for a motivated and organized individual to join our accounting team as an Accounting Clerk. The ideal candidate is someone who is looking to expand their accounting knowledge by taking on a challenging role in a professional and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative and accounting duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry of financial transactions, such as invoices, disbursements, and expenses.
- Monitor accounts for discrepancies and irregularities and follow up on them.
- Compile and analyze financial information for financial statements preparation.
- Reconcile monthly bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and submit invoices as required.
- Maintain financial records and provide administrative support to the accounting team.
Work Hours and Benefits:
Our core hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. We are a team-oriented business, and the Accounting Clerk position comes with a great benefits package, including paid vacation and sick time, 401(k) and medical/dental insurance.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of accounting experience
- Previous experience working in a CPA firm or similar setting
- Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards
- Proficient in QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Training and Education:
The successful candidate will have a college degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Additional training will be provided as needed.
