Job Description

Working as a Correctional Officer in Big Spring, TX

There are 3 Correctional Officer opportunities available in Big Spring, TX all with unique requirements.

The primary mission of this position is the protection and safety of inmates and staff. The correctional officer is responsible for maintaining the security of the institution through prevention, intervention, surveillance, observation, detection, and correction of unlawful activities within the institution. COs are responsible for searching inmates and their living quarters for illegal contraband (such as drugs or weapons) to ensure a safe working environment. Knowledge of operating procedures for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) functions required for deployment in an emergency situation. This position is also responsible for providing rehabilitation programming support for incarcerated offenders whose health services are provided by contract vendors.
