After reviewing the product/design for the site (and working with other designers and developers if more than one team is involved), the voice engineer either records or selects and edits existing audio to address specific product features. He or she recommends ways to help users understand complex features, guides writers as they develop text copy for voice-over, and helps ensure that interactions are consistent across all platforms. Depending on skillset, background, and industry experience, a voice engineer may also do some scripting and audio directing videos.
