The Land Surveyor is responsible for performing work related to measuring and locating land for architectural, engineering, construction, mapping, or other purposes. This work involves measuring horizontal and vertical angles with a transit or automatic theodolite, establishing benchmarks; plotting points on a plan and topographic maps, observing construction features to assist in the layout of road and utility lines; and conducting boundary surveys. Types of positions: Field Land Surveyor (FLS); Field Assistant Surveyor (FAS); and Senior Field Assistant Surveyor (SFAS)
